South Florida developer breaks ground on Osprey apartments

Kolter Multifamily, an affiliate of Delray Beach-based The Kolter Group, has broken ground on a 252-unit apartment community near downtown Sarasota.

The community, called Alton Osprey, is under construction at 174 E. Bay St. in Osprey. It will feature three, four and five-story apartment buildings with a mix of one- to three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 740 to 1,492 square feet.

“We are very excited to take part in the tremendous wave of development the greater Sarasota area is witnessing as we break ground on Alton Osprey,” Jeff Kruse, managing director of Kolter Multifamily, said in a release.

Each unit will have a kitchen with energy-efficient appliances, quartz countertops, walk-in closets and 9-foot ceilings. Select units will have private patios and balconies.

Amenities include a resort-style swimming pool with covered cabanas, an outdoor kitchen with grills, an outdoor fireside lounge, a business center and private conference room, coworking offices, a game lounge with billiards, a fitness center and a yoga and spin studio.

Alton Osprey will also feature secured storage, a bike storage area and electric vehicle charging stations.

“This development was strategically designed to place residents around Sarasota’s best amenities while providing a high-quality, engaging luxury experience at home,” Kruse said in a release. “As we hit this important construction milestone, we look forward to bringing our vision for this wonderful community to life.”
